Hitch It Hauling

Pricing

At Hitch It Hauling, we use a clear, dual-rate system to ensure you get the best value while covering the costs of reliable, specialized hauling. We charge based on the job's duration or distance, and you are billed by whichever method provides the higher rate, ensuring fair compensation for our time and travel.

We calculate the final price based on the greater of the following two calculations:

Rate Type

Pricing Detail

Calculation Focus

Per Mile Rate

$2.50 per loaded mile

Best for longer-distance hauling (covering fuel, wear/tear, and transit time).

Hourly Rate

$90.00 per hour

Best for local jobs and moves involving significant loading, waiting, or complex maneuvering.

How the "Whichever is Greater" System Works

This system prevents undercharging for short, difficult jobs (e.g., waiting for paperwork, backing up a long driveway, or complex city pickups) and ensures fair pricing for longer hauls.

Example 1 (Long Haul):
A 100-mile one-way trip (200 total miles, assuming round trip is factored in).
Mileage Cost: 100 miles (loaded) x $2.50 = $250.00
Time Cost: Estimated 4 hours total x $90.00 = $360.00
Your charge would be $360.00 (the greater amount).

Example 2:
(Short, Time-Intensive Job): A 15-mile local haul that takes 2.5 hours to load, transport, and unload.
Mileage Cost: 15 miles (loaded) x $2.50 = $37.50
Time Cost: 2.5 hours x $90.00 = $225.00
Your charge would be $225.00 (the greater amount).

Note on Mileage:
Mileage is calculated based on loaded miles (distance from pickup to drop-off). For trips under 100 miles, a minimum mileage charge may apply to account for the necessary return trip/deadhead mileage.
